In 1986 I bought my first Whippet, Ch.Legacy Dress You Up Kaliphna sired by Ch.Saxon Shore Amber Waves x Coastwind Calla Lily (yes of Coastwind Afghan fame.) She also has a very notable littermate, SBIS Ch.Legacy The Heat Is On. The Kaliphna whippets of today combine these two littermates with a focus on the best traits each one has proven to produce consistently.
I bred my first litter of Whippets in 1989 and my last litter of Afghans in 1990. Whippets have been the focus for Kaliphna since the early 1990’s. There have only been 6 litters bred or co-bred by Kaliphna. Kaliphna and Legacy have kept a very close relationship over the years. Many of my litters have been co-bred by Sandi Rolfe, Legacy Whippets.
