Hanna was a very unusual look for the Pacific
Northwest at the time. She was tall, leggy and very houndy. She looked much
like her father, Hap. When you stand out as much as she did, it can be for the
good or the bad. In Hanna’s case, it usually was detrimental. She would place
or go reserve much of the time. Chris & Marguerite Terrell admired her
individuality and could foresee great things from her. Chris showed Hanna for
us, winning WB from the American Bred class in No. Cal. Afghan Hound specialty
back in the days when there were 90 to 100 class bitches.
Hanna turned out to be a very selective breeder. Out of 4breedings, the only
two breedings that produced puppies were by her kennelmates. The first
breeding was by Ch. Kaliphna Main Event (by Giggles x Aja). The second
breeding was by Kaliphna Special Request (by Pepsi x Aja). This combination
produced the beautiful Int.,World, Fr., Sp., It., Port., Ch.Kaliphna Kudos de
Tchekana, Barclay was owned and loved by Christian and Dominique Danel of
France. Barclay had several equally gorgeous littermates, Kaliphna Center of
Attention, Kaliphna Just My Imagination and Kaliphna Blue Horizon.
